Eddystone ® Tatler Sportfishing Products  went into production in 1973. 

Our United Kingdom Factory now distributes it's products all over the World.

Eddystone Tatler Ltd has over the years purchased the trading names, machinery, sole manufacturing rights, ownership and copyrights of three very old British Company's.

The first of these was Tatler Reels which was purchased in 1989 from Grice & Young. Tatler Reels held five British records and two World records taken on Tatler Multiplier reels during a period from 1953 to 1989.

In 1999 Eddystone Tatler Ltd purchased North Coast Handlines who produced standard British fishing Handlines.

Our Eddystone Eel Lure Range get their name from probably the most famous lighthouse in the world which stands on the notorious Eddystone Reef of Rocks 14 miles out in the English Channel.

Our picture shows one of the old Eddystone Lighthouses known as SMEATON'S TOWER which was removed from the Eddystone Reef due to undermining of the rocks by the sea on which it stood. The remains of the stump of this old lighthouse can still be seen today. You can read more about the long history of The Eddystone Light by selecting the topic from our menu bar above.

We have developed our lures fishing for Bass, Pollock and Coalfish which patrol this area in search of their natural sea food, the sand eel. Hence our design of artificial sand eel lures, which have been proven on this particular spot.

Our lures are successful fish catchers around the world for a variety of different species. These were initially introduced by travelling anglers from the UK. We now export our products World Wide.

Our company is continually producing new and innovative products for the sea angler. EDDYSTONE EEL LURES were the Winners of the GLASS BOWL TROPHY at the July 2001 E.F.T.T.E.X Exhibition in AMSTERDAM for the BEST NEW PRODUCT in the WORLD COMPETITION  from over 1500 entrants with the PLUG EEL. In the year of 2005 we have further introduced a further range of products to the Eddystone ® Tatler Brand.

No other plastic sand eel lure that we know of has achieved such note. Our Sand Eel lures can be classified as the PREMIUM SAND EEL LURE in the WORLD with such achievements. 

Eddystone Tatler Ltd has now for 2005 set up manufacturing units in the UK, USA and China and will now service the Trade Direct from its wholesale base in Plymouth selling to its network of Retail Premier Dealers, UK Distributors and Overseas Distributors in many countries throughout the world.
